About St Peter's Anglican Church

St Peter's Anglican Church was founded in 1991 under The Rt. Rev. A. Donald Davies, the sixth bishop of Dallas, the first bishop of Fort Worth and the Episcopal Missionary Church. St Peter's first Rector was the longtime rector and headmaster of St Barnabas Episcopal Church in Houston, The Rev. S. Patrick Murphy, SSC.

The parish met at the Post Oak YMCA for twelve years, preaching the Gospel and offering the sacraments of the Church to the faithful. In time funds were raised to purchase land and build a church in the town of Jersey Village. Then Bishop of the Diocese of the Holy Cross, Bp. Murphy continued to guide his flock in Jersey Village until his death in 2009.

In 2011 St Peter's welcomed its second Rector, The Rev. John Needham. Shortly thereafter the parish began construction of its new home in Cypress where services began in 2015. Fr. Needham moved in 2019, and the parish called it's third Rector, The Rev. Geordan Geddings, in February 2020. St. Peter's joined the Anglican Catholic Church when the Diocese of the Holy Cross was received as a nongeographic Diocese in 2021. From Post Oak to Jersey Village to Cypress, the mission of St Peter's remains the same: To preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a fallen world while offering the sacraments of our Lord's one, holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

How We Worship

St Peter's offers traditional Anglican services based on the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, supplemented by the American Missal. The faith taught is that of the United Church of the first millennium as received from the Church in England.

Our Parish History

Our Philosophy

Faith is more than what happens on Sunday mornings. It's a part of who we are, inside and out. At St Peter's Anglican Church, we believe in sharing the joy of the gospels daily, and living a life that embodies the spirit of Christ.

As an Anglican Parish we hold to:
     1. The Primacy of Holy Scriptures
     2. The Three Catholic Creeds commonly known as The Apostles Creed, The Nicene Creed and The Athanasian Creed
     3. The Seven Ecumenical Councils

     4. The Seven Traditional Sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation, The Holy Eucharist, Confession, Holy Matrimony, Ordination,                and Unction.

St. Peter's offers its members and guests the ability to practice a sacramental life through:
     * Morning and Evening Prayer
     * Bible Study
     * Christian Formation Classes and Sunday School
     * Prayer Group and Fellowship time
     * Outreach ministries

All culminating  in and revolving around the Eucharist, the very foundation

of our Christian life, where "faith alone, when sight forsaketh,

shows true hearts the mystery."

Our Services use:
     * The King James Bible
     * The 1928 Book of Common Prayer
     * The 1940 Hymnal
     * The Anglican Missal
     * The English Office
     * The English Hymnal
